Computers and Technology
The Chester Fritz Library has a variety of technology available for both in-library use and to checkout.
The main computer lab is on the 2nd floor of the library. There is a scanner and uPrint station here as well.
Additionally, there are several computers on the third floor of the library near the DVD section.
All our lab computers (including both Windows and Macs) are equipped with:
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Creative Cloud Suite
- SPSS
- Mathematica
- VLC
- Chrome and Firefox web browsers
- ArcGIS (windows only)
All computers are on a first come first serve basis whenever the library is open.
Chester Fritz Library has collaborative workstations for group work available in several of the study rooms. Please see the Chester Fritz Library Study Room Booking for more information.
Each floor of the Chester Fritz Library has at least one charging cart stocked with several portable chargers. Each charger will have:
- Two USB-C ports (up to 100W each)
- One USB-A port (up to 18W)
That's enough to charge a laptop, Chromebook, phone, tablet, and much more. If you are charging more than one device at a time, power is shared between ports, so each device may charge a little slower.
If a charger is running low, please place it back on the nearest cart so it can recharge for the next person.
If you need a cable for charging a device, stop by the Ask Us Desk to pick one up.

The UND community has access to Chester Fritz Library's Tech & Tool collection for checkout.
