Room Reservations
About
There are four types of reservable rooms at the Chester Fritz Library. They are:
- Meeting Rooms for larger events that are both department specific and campus wide
- Group Study Rooms for smaller meetings, group work, or private test taking
- Learning Spaces for classes, workshops, or student organization meetings
- Recording Studio for creating recorded presentations or podcasts
Additionally, the library gets first priority on room use for its own operations and events. If you use a room, you're responsible for your own equipment and valuables, (the library isn't liable for them). Please leave the room clean and tidy when you're done. Some spaces need approval from Library Administration and the Office of Safety before you can use them. In those cases, you'll need to submit a Special Event Approval form and check the Safety Office's policies and forms for more details.
There are two meeting rooms available:
- On the second floor - the Reading Room (225)
- On the 4th Floor Conference Room (405-406)
Use of these rooms is subject to availability and must be approved by Chester Fritz Library administration. All University policies must be followed and the space should be reserved at least two calendar weeks in advance.
There are fourteen group study rooms available across the first, third, and fourth floors of the library. The following terms apply:
- Reservation time slots start every 30 minutes
- Minimum booking time is 30 minutes
- Maximum booking time is 3 hours
- No one person can reserve a room for more than 9 hours per week
- Rooms 300A, 300B, and 300C are reserved for UND Academic Support Monday to Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM
- On the first floor - Room 108
- On the third floor- Room 301
Library learning spaces equipped with computers support the librarians’ ability to conduct research instruction sessions. Priority is given to these librarian-led instructional sessions, with certain times of the semester creating a large demand for those spaces. Please contact Brian Garrison-Nguyễn to reserve either learning space.
The recording studio on the second floor of the library includes both video cameras and microphones. If you would like assistance with the technology in the space, please let us know in the booking form. Additionally, the recording studio can be reserved for up to 4 hours.
