About the Depository Program
The U.S. Government is the largest publisher in the world. It provides information on an amazing variety of topics in print, microform, and digital formats.
The UND Chester Fritz Library was designated a Federal Depository in 1890. Depository libraries make government distributed information available to the public free of charge.
UND and NDSU Joint Regional Depository
UND and NDSU have shared depository status since 1968.

- UND receives publications from the agencies listed, approximately 60% of the total.
- NDSU Depository Agencies
- NDSU receives publications from the agencies listed, equal to about 40% of the total.
Government Documents Exchange Lists
The University of North Dakota’s Chester Fritz Library, in partnership with the Federal Depository Library Program, founded the national Needs and Offers List now maintained by the Government Publications Office. You can also view the Needs and Offers lists from this library:
