Support the Chester Fritz Library
In October 2011, the Chester Fritz Library will mark its 50th anniversary at the University of North Dakota. It is amazing to consider the thousands of students who have used the Library to find information, seek advice on research papers, and study for exams. Over the 50-year period, much has changed. In 1961 students relied on the Library to have a large collection of books and journals housed within its walls. Today, students still use the print collections, but they expect the Library to provide access to a broad range of electronic resources found around the world via the Internet.
One thing that has not changed is the Library’s commitment to providing the best possible scholarly resources in support of our students’ learning experiences and the faculty’s research programs. Our goal is to maintain the same high quality in the next 50 years.
The story of the Chester Fritz Library begins with the generous donation from Chester Fritz, a former UND student. His gift led to the creation of the North Dakota’s largest library and began an era of collection growth and support for both learning and research which continues today.
I invite you to become part of the great giving tradition at UND. Your contribution to the Library will continue to build on the legacy of Mr. Fritz. It will insure the most important books, journals and databases will be available to our students and faculty and that our librarians will have the knowledge and the requisite tools needed to educate our students.
To support the Chester Fritz Library, you may donate online, or mail your donation to the UND Foundation:
